Hey everyone, this is nothing special but I am trying my hand at little projects here and there. Hopefully, this adds something to your toolkit or inspires a project of your own. Please feel free to provide any feedback or ask any questions I would be happy to answer or engage in any discussions!
Time Required:
1 hour
Materials Required:
7/16 ID clear tubing (Length dependent on distance to and from Tap and source)
Tap (I got mine from Amazon)
Copper pipe ½ dia straight, tees and 90 deg elbows
Hose clamp
Screw
Heineken Mini Keg
Cooler
Ice
Duct Tape
Tools Required:
Drill
Solder
Soldering torch
7/16 or ½ drill bit
Crescent Wrench
Steps
- Find a suitable location where you want the Tap to be.
- Determine the route clear tubing will need to go from the source to the Tap.
- Drill, if necessary, the location that the clear tubing will need to exit from.NOTE: ½ inch PVC can be used in Lieu of copper and will not require the need for solder.
- Using the copper pipe assemble a mount for the Tap.
- Using the Tee Fitting slide the Tap into the straight portion
- The lower portion of the tee fitting will be used to connect to a wall or tabletop (However you have determined your Tap placement and clear tubing route to be).
- A 90-degree elbow will be used to cover the clear tube connection to the Tap.
- Once the copper pipe arrangement has been figured out, solder the pipe together.
- Install the mount in place
- Feed the Tap handle into your mount and secure.
- Route the clear tubing and connect to the Tap and mount.
- Place mini Keg in cooler and fill with ice.
- Attach a clear tube to the Mini keg
- Test Tap handle to purge air from the line.
- Enjoy!
